A Case of Optic Neuritis and Central Rentinal Vein Occlusion associated with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

Abstract

|
he systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE) is an autoimmune disease producing inflammatory lesions affect many organs. It is a disease of unknown etiology, classified with the collagen disease.
Ocular manifestations of systemic lupus erythematosus include edema of the eyelids, ptosis, nystagmus, extraocular muscle palsies, conjunctivitis, Sj?ren¡¯s syndrome, episcleritis, uveitis and retinopathy.
The authors experienced a case of systemic lupus erythematosus which was associated with optic neuritis and central retinal vein occlusion occurred in 35-year-old female patient complained sudden visual disturbance of the left eye.
We report a case with review the literature (J Korean Ophthalmol Soc 35:116~121, 1994).
